19th century -early 20th century carved and painted Kidumu Dance Mask from the Téké-Tsaye community in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo

This kind of Téké head mask was used in important meetings, at funerals of chiefs and during wedding ceremonies. The beautifully carved and painted mask consists geometric figures, representing an abstract human face.

The mask has no restorations and is in good condition.  No cracks, or signs of paint loss past what is visible.
