Vintage cover and copy of The Literary Digest magazine from 14 November 1908. J.C. Leyendecker cover illustration with the remainder of the magazine inserted into a slot on the rear of the framed work.
J.C. Leyendecker (1874-1951) was the pre-eminent American illustrator of the latter 19th and early 20th centuries, and passed the torch later to Norman Rockwell. Many of his originals were destroyed after his death so the period printed works that remain are eagerly collected.
