A wonderful portrait of a "Mr Jones" in outdoor gear.  The artist, J.G. Stephenson, from Connecticut regularly had illustrative work published in Leslie’s Weekly magazine in the 1920s. This oil on canvas, from 1928, signed at lower right, inscribed en verso, is presented in a later giltwood frame.
